If you want to start reading comic books on your computer, you may have to organize thousands of files, considering that some comics have been around for decades. You can use ComicRack to open and read comic books, in various formats, but you can also use this lightweight application to manage your collection. Its smart features give you the possibility of locating specific comics or pages instantly.

When installing ComicRack, you may select a few more components, besides shortcuts or Start menu folders. You can set the wizard to include language packs, additional images and icons, to associate the application with common eComic extensions and to optimize it for faster execution on your operating system.

Thanks to ComicRack's tabbed interface, you can load multiple comics at the same time. Exploring the library, local partitions and selecting specific pages can be done on separate tabs as well. The library can be found in the lower region of the interface, but you can dock it in other areas if you want to. To load a comic, you simply need to drag it and drop it from the library to the preview area.

You can explore your partitions and load comics, without any difficulties, but if you add them to the library, the application will sort them automatically on various smart lists. You will be able to find your favorite comics, recently added or read items, unread comics and so on. Furthermore, ComicRack allows you to sort the comics by numerous criteria, rate, group or stack them and much more.

When it comes to reading comic books, you will notice that ComicRack is very comfortable. Pages are fitted and rotated automatically. It takes a single click to hide the library and a double click to go to full screen mode. You can also switch between different layouts, to show one or two pages at a time. Besides zooming in and out, you can also activate a magnifier tool.

There are various ways of navigating through a comic book's pages. Besides clicking and dragging or using the scroll wheel, you can bring up a list of pages on one of the library's tabs and select one. Alternatively, you can hover with the mouse cursor in the lower region of the preview area to reveal a horizontal list, in which the pages are displayed as thumbnails.

Pros

The software supports numerous eComic extensions. It sorts comic books automatically, on different smart lists. You can load multiple comic books on separate tabs and go to full screen mode. The application fits and rotates pages automatically and it places numerous tools at your disposal.

Cons

You may have difficulties figuring out how to unhide the top menus. ComicRack provides everything you need to read and organize your digital comic books in a simple, fun and comfortable manner.
